As August draws to a close, the Capital Crew Masters are already looking ahead, gearing up for the Head of the Port and Head of the American 5K regattas. But before we dive into the next round of racing, it’s worth taking a moment to celebrate just how much our club has accomplished!

From successful Learn to Row graduates taking their first strokes on the water, to our lively Sunday Erg Challenges led by Sebastian Cohn,  recreational Sunday Rowers enjoying their Sunday mornings and Ring of Fire quad rowers working on techniques, there has been no shortage of energy, enthusiasm and camaraderie.

Our Novice Coaching Sessions with Coach Jackie have also given new rowers the opportunity to build their skills, gain confidence and become more comfortable in the boat. Watching our rowers progress—from those first tentative strokes to rowing together as a crew—is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

And the numbers tell an exciting story: Capital Crew Masters now has 115 active members, including 22 new members who have joined our program! 🎉

That growth is a testament to the welcoming spirit of our club and to the many coaches, volunteers, coxswains and experienced rowers who generously share their time and knowledge.

So, as we head into the final stretch of summer and prepare to race, let’s celebrate the people who make Capital Crew Masters such a special community. More rowers, more experiences, more friendships—and plenty more miles to row!

Here’s to a strong finish to the season and to everything still ahead. See you on the water! 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️
