Our quad scullers called The Ring of Fire Scullers, organized by Hank Pohl, rowed out on last Friday morning and we did a drill which inspired our fellow master sculler, Lisa Burke to compose this poem in less than an hour while we rowed back to the dock.

I recorded it and thought I shared with you this inspiring words as you scull...

A Joyful August Morning

We rowed past logs and lots of debris,

We stopped to try Hands Free for Three:

Roll up early; don't grip too tightly;

Drop the blades in and let them float lightly...

Then drive for speed.

We're all agreed

That all of these drills

Help improve our skills

So our joy grows higher

In the Ring of Fire.

Composed by Lisa Burke
