Good luck to all of the Capital Crew Masters athletes competing this weekend at the River City Rebellion Regatta in West Sacramento! The unique 1,000-meter sprint regatta brings together rowers from across the region for two exciting days of racing at the Port of West Sacramento.

The River City Rebellion Regatta is one of Northern California’s most distinctive rowing events, held at the Port of West Sacramento. Unlike traditional side-by-side racing, the Rebellion uses a tournament-style format with handicaps for boat class, age, and gender, allowing athletes from different categories to compete in the same bracket. After multiple elimination rounds, overall champions are crowned.

Weekend Schedule

Saturday, June 6, 2026 – Small Boat Tournament

Competitors race over a 1,000-meter sprint course in:

  • Masters Men’s & Women’s 1x, 2-, and 2x

  • Masters Mixed 2x

  • Open Men’s & Women’s 1x, 2-, and 2x

  • Open Mixed 2x

  • Junior (U19 and U17) Men’s & Women’s 1x, 2-, and 2x

  • Junior Mixed 2x

  • Women’s Adaptive 1x

Sunday, June 7, 2026 – Big Boat Tournament

The focus shifts to larger crew boats:

  • Masters Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed 4+, 4x, and 8+

  • Open Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed 4+, 4x, and 8+

  • Junior (U19 and U17) Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed 4+, 4x, and 8+

Saturday features singles and doubles competition, while Sunday shifts to the larger boats, where Capital Crew Masters will field four 8+ crews ready to battle it out on the water.

But before a single stroke is taken, there is plenty of work behind the scenes. One of the most important parts of regatta preparation is rigging the boats, loading them onto the trailer, and making sure every piece of equipment arrives race-ready. It takes a true team effort long before race day begins.

Check out the photos of our crew preparing for the weekend’s competition. Thank you to everyone who helped get the boats ready and on the road!

Wishing all our rowers fast boats, strong finishes, and a fantastic weekend of racing
